Valerie Khoo is an artist, printmaker and curator.
She creates original artwork and limited edition prints that are sold within Australia and around the world. Known for her modern take on traditional block printing techniques, Valerie combines contemporary and classic approaches to create a unique look with her Vintage Chinoiserie series.
Her passion for storytelling underpins her Flying Apostrophes series, which is about belonging, identity and forging your own path in the world when everyone tells you that you should be doing something else.
Valerie’s art can be found in private collections and commercial premises in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Singapore and USA.
She works primarily in acrylics and mixed media, often utilising bold, striking colour palettes.
With a Diploma of Surface Design, Valerie was also co-founder and designer of the fashion and homewares label Taylor & Khoo which had stores in Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall and Singapore.
Valerie was also the City of Sydney’s Curator of the Sydney Lunar Festival for 2019 to 2020, an arts /culture festival that attracts more than 1.5 million people.
